 Mason really wanted to do what I was doing. So I gave him a mechanical pencil without clicking the lead out.

 Here I’m holding the picture of the car I’m drawing to fill in some detail on the rear right wheel.

 first application of the glossy yellow paint. I found out that the pencil lines take 5 or 6 coats to cover.

 Kettle black for the tires. Egg shell is all Lowes would give me for the sample size paint.

 I mixed 50/50 white and black for the tire highlight base. Then I just applied white directly and mixed it in for the accents.

 Then I added just a strip of white to the control arms to give a cylindrical look.

 Now I’ve added the base highlight to the car to make it shiney and bring out the shape of the body. It’s 4 parts white to 6 parts yellow.

 I followed the outline of the car with pure white at the width of the brush I was using. This took a couple of coats. The purpose is the clean up the pencil lines and pop the car out a bit more. Even though I’m not quite done with the detail, I moved on to the green trim. I’ve applied the shadow as well underneath.
