This website was originally dedicated to Mason, but with the addition of our new son Reid Matthew, it is now a brother blog. Enjoy the updates of our kids.
We spent some time with the Garritys, and they have a pond right next to their house with tons of bass and bluegill. After a little while trying fake bait, I went ahead and used plain ol’ white bread pressed in to a dough ball. Right when the bait hit the water, a bluegill hit it. I set the hook and Mason reeled him in. The one in the video is a decent size, but the second one we caught was hard to put your hand around. Mason and Reid loved it.
Our first adventure was the ice skating rink here in Charleston. We ended up “skating” ~30min until Mason was too cold and Reid wanted nothing to do with the ice ever again. Then our roller skating adventure was at the “Roller Cave” in Indy. After about 10min, Mason smacked his face on the floor and bloodied both lips. Consequently, he was traumatized and probably will never skate again. Reid on the other hand got the hang of it and enjoyed being dragged around.
What is funnier than a little boy dosing at the dinner table totally oblivious to the fact that his parents are silently laughing at his little bobbing head? Not much!
Reid will give us some random character every now and then. Then of course, if it makes you laugh, he keeps doing it. Mason has also been on a joke-telling kick lately since we looked at a joke book together. Now he ad libs. Look out “Who’s Line is it Anyway.”
What parenthood is complete without teaching your kids animal sounds. It helps them identify animals, help animals identify them, and helps them to take on an animal identity. Whatever it’s for, it’s just plain funny.
