This website was originally dedicated to Mason, but with the addition of our new son Reid Matthew, it is now a brother blog. Enjoy the updates of our kids.
Our little boy decided he didn’t want to crawl. Instead, he does the scooch – one leg forward, one leg back, paddling with the left hand, and kicking with the right leg. He is actually very proficient on grass, carpet, and even concrete (though we don’t let him do that too long, or the left cheek of his pants will get worn out too fast). Also, compared to other kids that crawl, he’s usually faster .
This little clip just cracked me up. I don’t know if anyone did the “red-belly” torture to your siblings, but Reid does it to himself. I think he’s conditioning for future rough-housing.
Some friends of ours had their little girls b-day party at the gymnastics gym in The Y. It was a ton of fun, and it gave me a chance to throw the kids around a little – every Dad needs that .
Better late than never….HAPPY 1st BDAY Reid!!!! As of June 4th, we officially have the cutest one year old. Reid is our happy, energetic little man. He is a scooting maniac. I don’t think he is ever going to do a conventional crawl. Instead he scoots on his bottom-we have a video of it which will be posted soon. We’re still a ways off from walking, although he loves to hold your fingers and walk all over the place!
Reid loves his big brother and will smile and laugh at pretty much anything Mason does. Other favs of his are yogurt, eggs, music, and being outside. He says momma, dadda, uh oh, and hello. He also waves to anyone and will sometimes blow kisses. He LOVES to give real kisses and hugs and is SUPER affectionate. Reid weighs 21 lbs (only 3 lbs shy of his older brother) and is a very healthy, active little man. He is very opinionated and has no problem letting you know if he is not happy with whatever you might be doing. Also coming soon is a video of us singing to Reid on his birthday. He, like Mason, wanted nothing to do with getting dirty with his cake. We have boys who like to stay clean (wonder how long that will be true?). HAPPY BIRTHDAY REID!!
We have been very blessed that Reid and Mason play so well together. Since Mason is so in to Thomas the train, I found that getting him to brush his teeth was much easier if he rode the toothbrush train (my back while making choo choo sounds with one stop at the tooth brush station). Here is Mason’s version of the tooth brush train.
