Mason’s new Game

December 31st, 2008

Mason has created a new fun game for Matt and I. It is called “hide things in the trashcan.” :) Mason likes to pick various things up from around the house and throw them in our office trashcan. So far we have found a picture still in its frame, toys, $5, important papers (including Matt’s tags and registration for his car), and shoes. I don’t think we have lost anything important…at least not that we have realized. And now that we have caught on to his game, we check that trashcan twice before throwing anything out for the garbage collectors. :) He loves to keep us on our toes.

Happy New Year!!

Mason is going to be a big brother!!

December 15th, 2008

Hi Everybody!

That’s right, I’m pregnant. :) I am almost 14 weeks along with a due date of June 16th. Below is a picture of baby scott #2 taken just last week.

Matt and I have a feeling that this child is going to be a little bit of a handful. At my ultrasound last week the tech was supposed to take measurements to make sure that everything was healthy with the baby. After trying 3 different ways to get these measurements, she finally gave up. Two other doctors came in and tried and they couldn’t either. Our baby just would not cooperate. See, a baby is supposed to be lying down, as shown in the picture above. However, our baby refused to lie down for longer than a second (I’m kind of surprised they were even able to snap this picture.) Our baby instead liked to stand up and do leg kicks. See the picture below: baby doing leg kicks.

So, I am now going back to the doctor today to try again with the ultrasound measurements. We’ll see how it goes. Also, this was the ultrasound that they were able to tell the sex for Mason. Did our baby cooperate for them to even look? Nope-had it’s legs crossed whenver it wasn’t jumping up and down.

Mason is such a sweet, mild-mannered little guy that it would make sense that this time around things would be shaken up a bit. My gut feeling tells me this is a girl, but again, just a guess. We’ll find out for sure in January. Mason is starting to understand the big brother role. Just last week he pointed to my stomach and said baby, and then tried to feed my belly button a cookie. I have no doubts that he will love his sibling and be a great big brother. :)
